What we do

We are an educational enrichment center designed to serve the homeschool community. Our eight-month academic year, divided into two semesters, offers a diverse range of electives and academic support in a variety of subjects. Our enrichment model is developmentally appropriate, academically rigorous, and prioritizes the whole child through experiential learning. We partner with parents and educators to complement independent learning, providing a well-rounded and enriching experience for homeschool students.

Why we’re different

Our program offers flexible attendance options, allowing students to participate from one to four days each week. What truly sets us apart is our unique weekly schedule, thoughtfully designed around a child-centered philosophy to ensure every day is a fresh and engaging experience. Our academic days on Tuesdays and Thursdays provide a robust foundation through our Charter-approved curriculum, covering Math, Science, Music, History, English, and Physical Education. Wednesdays are dedicated to creative exploration and skill-building with our rotating selection of electives, including performing arts, athletics, STEM, and world languages like Beginning Russian and ASL. Finally, our Fridays are reserved for Community Days—a family-centered, open invitation for all registered Sova families to connect outside of our four walls. Whether we are meeting weekly at a park, library, or museum, or heading out on one of our larger monthly adventures, these days are the heart of our community, offering parents and students the perfect space to foster lasting friendships while exploring the world together.

A school schedule your child will be excited about.

A new approach to the school-week.

Academic Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays OR Mondays & Fridays (8:30am-2:30pm)

Our Academic Days, held every Tuesday and Thursday or Monday and Friday from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, provide a robust, structured foundation for our students. We utilize a high-quality, Charter-approved curriculum to ensure that all core subjects are covered with excellence, meeting both academic standards and the needs of our unique community.

The curriculum encompasses:

  • Core Subjects: Math, Science, History, and English.

  • Enrichment: Music and Physical Education.

Supporting Student Progress

We believe in empowering parents with the right tools to support their child’s learning journey at home. To keep families organized, we provide the following:

Supplemental Work (Mondays or Tuesdays)

On Mondays or Tuesdays, students receive an optional supplemental work folder. These materials are specifically designed to reinforce the day’s lessons, providing extra practice for students who want to deepen their understanding of the concepts covered in class.

Completed Work Folders (Thursdays or Fridays)

On Thursdays, students take home a completed work folder containing samples from each subject. This serves as a vital record of your student’s progress and achievements throughout the week.

  • Flexibility for Records: This work can be submitted to your Charter Teacher as part of your reporting requirements or kept for your own personal portfolio and records.

Wednesday Electives: Discover & Create (8:30am-2:30pm)

Our Wednesday Elective Days are designed to spark curiosity and allow students to explore a wide range of interests in a dynamic, hands-on environment. Operating from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, these days are dedicated to movement, creativity, and discovery.

We believe in providing a well-rounded experience where students can develop new skills and find their passions alongside their peers.

A World of Exploration

Our rotating selection of electives offers something for every interest, including:

  • Performing Arts: Choir, Piano, Drums, Voice Lessons, plus specialized Dance classes like Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theater.

  • Athletics & Outdoors: Basketball, Volleyball, PE, and even outdoor skills like Camping, Gardening.

  • STEM & Innovation: Hands-on Science Experiments, Coding + Robotics, and Entrepreneur Classes (with a end-of-semester Maker’s Fair!)

  • Creative Arts & Linguistics: Creative Writing, Arts + Crafts, and World Languages, with current offerings in Beginning Russian and American Sign Language (ASL).

Celebrating Achievement

We love to see our students shine! For all of our performance-based classes, we host an end-of-semester recital. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their hard work, build confidence, and celebrate their progress with the entire Sova community. We also have a Maker’s Fair for our entrepreneurial students!

Designing the Day

Our elective schedule is built to provide a balanced mix of physical activity, artistic expression, and technical skill-building. Whether they are mastering a new melody on the piano or building complex structures in STEM, students are encouraged to engage deeply with each subject.

Community Fridays: Building Connection Beyond the Classroom

We are thrilled to introduce Community Fridays, a weekly invitation for our families to connect, explore, and build lasting friendships outside of Sova’s four walls.

At Sova, we believe that education is most impactful when it’s supported by a strong, vibrant community. These days are designed to bridge the gap between school and home, giving students a chance to bond with their peers in a relaxed setting and providing parents the opportunity to get to know one another.

How It Works

  • Weekly Meetups: Every Friday, we’ll gather at local favorites like parks, libraries, museums, or the lake. These are low-pressure, high-connection mornings where students can play and parents can chat.

  • Monthly Adventures: Once a month, we’ll step it up with a “Larger Adventure”—think specialized exhibits, nature preserves, or unique regional landmarks.

  • Family-Centered: Please note that these are not drop-off days. Community Fridays are designed for the whole family; parents or guardians stay to participate, supervise, and socialize.

Registration & Logistics

To keep these days accessible and flexible, there is no monthly fee for Community Fridays. Families simply cover their own costs for the day, such as admission, parking, or food.

  • Eligibility: These events are an open invite to all currently registered Sova families.

  • How to Join: To participate, please select the “Friday Registration” option in your portal.

  • Stay Informed: Once registered for Fridays, you will be added to our dedicated communication platform. This is where we will post the weekly meet-up locations, times, and any specific details for our monthly adventures. We will accommodate both cohorts of Mon/Fri and Tues/Thur students by offering meet-ups at different times throughout Friday.
